All of these photos are awesome. It's really difficult to pick my favorites. #1 is really cute and quirky, and a little awkward in a good way. I think the expression and composition is great. I love the effect of the water photos, but I'm not sure they would be right for a portrait assignment, because they don't reveal much about the character of the subjects. The expressions in 6 and 7 are great, but overall 8 and 9 have the best compositions. 8 has really nice tones, and 9 is very powerful, I would just up the contrast more.
It's very hard to choose my favorites because I like them all. I wish the first one was a little more in focus. The second one I would play around with cropping. The third is awesome. Seven and nine I find hilarious and I wouldn't change a thing.
The last one is my favorite. It is very bold and has a lot of meaning to it. There's also a statement about how its sunny out but shes in the shadow. Nice pictures!
The last photo is really interesting. I like that you included a lot of the background. It creates the sense that she is sharing her message, alone, but it means a enough to her to do it anyway. It is well framed.
I think you've tried a lot of different stuff in your photos and that's super awesome. I think I like your self portrait the best, but I think the last one is really cool because you managed to get her alone in the photograph even thought its a busy street.
I really like the last 2 photos and the first one. The last on is really interesting, it's definitely my favorite. I also like the blank background in the first photo.
Love 3 and 5. #3 feels like 2 guys are sneaking around for some reason kind of like crooks, dont know why this reminds me of this. 5 has really great lighting and great emotion on his face.
McDonald's workers ARE always pissed, I agree. The woman with the planned parenthood sign is awesome. Love how the street is empty around her and she's not overly posed or too in the viewer's face.
the first and second work well. i think the last one is good too, especially because your concept is being revealed. you are definitely onto something with capturing people who hate their jobs. there are A TON of people who hate their jobs and are angry that they have to work day-in-and-day-out in situations that they are not passionate about. this could be larger-year long project.
My favorites are # 1, 4, 8. But there are aspects of every photo you have that I like- good McDonalds idea, it is SO true. I like the composition and quirkiness of the self portrait. The texture of #4 I think is really beautiful. And of course, the photo of the smoking guy has good lighting and I think it shows a lot about his personality.
